No Sound On DOOM

Hiya, i have just downloaded doom. I can play it fine and it is a brilliant game

. But i cannot get any sound

, i have tried every sound config in the doom stup program but still nothin. I have heard about a patch that will fix the sound but i cant find it does n e 1 now where i can find such a patch

What sound card and os are you using?

Unless your having problems with one of the new engines. You can always enjoy the benefits of the cult following, and download ZDoom or JDoom.

jDoom is pure awesome, I highly recommend it.

Besides being Windows based, it looks a heck of a lot better than the original DOS game. (Higher resolutions, 3D-card DirectX polygon graphics instead of sprites, cool SFX ...) Download it at:

(Get the 2nd one, the one with the installer. Note that you still need the original DOOM files to use jDoom, and that jDoom needs Windows with a decent hardware setup.)

I am using Windows XP and i have a AC Link 3D Game Audio Device, but ill tyr downloading one of the other versions of doom and see if they r any better

I like ZDoom the best. Get it at http://zdoom.org
It is fast, compatible, does the fancy 3D stuff and is easy to use.
There are a lot of ports to choose from so check all of them out.
