EGG THIEF

Phrene the marten stared sleeping pterosaurs and waited for the mark. She, a couple of other martens and a fox were sent to steal four pteranodon eggs.
Pterosaurs slept restfull among their colony atop a high cliff. Their mates were fishing long way at the sea. In side of each there was a nest covered with
ferns and algae, where searched eggs were hatching in warmth of decaying plants.
The sight was, however, misleading: any tiny sound from nestcover would wake a mother up like somebody had just roared to her ear. Phrene knew what it
meant: pteranodon would see the nest raider and kill it without hesitation with her sharp beak. In same time would the whole colony wake up and all the
mammals would be killed in racket, which could be heard away in inland. Pteranodons would think they were arrived to eat their eggs. In normal case that
would be that, but Pherene and others had already filled their stomachs to prevent them to succeed in task there had came here.

The fox dashed short urine aside him onto pebble and mammals set off. Pherene came closer to one nest sneaking with sharp claws half inside toes so they
wouldn't rustle on bare rock. Her sight was nailed to pteranodon and Phrene watched her to wake up. At that moment marten would give a signal to run to
their village at the foot of the rock. Pterosaurs wouldn't crawl long away from nests giving mammals a change to try again later, when it was sure that all
the pteranodons were asleep.
Phrene managed to arrive next to the nest and the sight still in the mother started, with her gloved hands, instead of her mouth, to remove the mass from
top of the eggs. Pteranodon slept the full time and finally Phrene managed to dig an leather egg. Phrene sniffed the egg and found it would hatch out in two
weeks. Phrene removed the est of plants carefully and stared without the sleeping pteranodon a moment without moving. Her legs were ready to jump back like over tight springs. Fortuinately the pterosaur didn't make a move.
Finally the egg was completely bare and Phrene picked it up with both hands, because here fangs would burst it and Phrene would be forced to dig out
another one. Last glance to sleeping pteranodon and then leaving out quietly.

Pherene manged to take only a couple of steps when everything went wrong. The whole flock woke up squalling and screaming. Raged and frantic screams didn't cover fox' whines and begs of not to been killed.
Phrene broke to run. It wasn't sure that mama pterosaur wouldn't join here comrades to finish the fox and Phrene didn't plan to witness it, or same would
happen to her. Marten's run stopped when her tail tightened. Phrene turned fast like lightning and bit pteranodon to her fingers. Pterosaur screamed and
let her grip.
Phrene didn't get far when there was another pteranodon front of her. Marten changed to way which looked safest and was soon at the edge of cliff and stared
to waves surging against the rock.
Phrene looked behind and saw the pteranodon galloping with three limbs and being beside from worry. Marten looked for suitable gap to flash safely past the
pteranodon. But there wasn't one. It was a long drop, but Phrene didn't have choice. Just before pteranodon reached to bit marten from tail, she jumped holding
the egg tightly.

Phrene sunk deep into water not letting loose. She opened her eyes quickly in case there were hungry mosasaurs there. None was seen and Phrene rose fast to
surface and gasped for breath. She looked to rock, but the pteranodon wasn't in sight. So she was returning to nest and to fix the egg covering.
Swimming was hard, but finally Phrene reached the shore. Still panting she looked the egg. Fortunately it was still undamaged. Drying got to leave: she had
to hurry to get safe with others before a seagull would see the egg and steal it, or it'd burst in a fight.

Way from shore to dinosaur farm passed off without danger. In there were all the staff and one of them saw Phrene.
-Female!, he said. -We thought they ate you.
-She nearly did, Phrene answered, -Did that fox' claw hit one, or what happened?
-All of them didn't sleep. One saw Cussew and then everyone close were killing him.
Another worker brought a wooden box full of dry hey. Phrene put the egg in it and covered it with hey. After that the box was taken inside a storage to wait
a surrogate mother.
-Do you need me?, Phrene asked still taking off her dress.
-Boss told us to feed the dinosaurs.
-He shall wait until I don't smell the sea anymore.
Phrene threw away shoes too and dashed atop the office to shake her fur.

No offence, but did you specifically try to imitate the style of AI-generated texts?
