I so happen to have a 3.5" disk of Parsifal.
Is that the shareware version, or the registered version?
So on the label is a picture of a shield on the left, and a very short looking wizard on the right. In between those images on the label it says:
PARSIFAL
WAR OF THE MAGES
FOX DUGON
MONSTER MAKER
I think the word DUGON is supposed to be Dungeon but I'm not sure. And the label looks like it was homemade as well.
So below all those words it says Parsifal: A medieval fantasy world The object of the game is capture all 7 of the Grail pieces to win.Supports EGS/VGA (I think EGS is supposed to be EGA) After that it says, Also included is Fox Dugon, War of the Mages, Monster Maker, and Magic Item Creator.
The only thing on the disk however is a folder that says WAR-MAGE and an autotemp.bat file. In the WAR-MAGE folder is the FOXDGN.EXE file, FDUNGEON.EXE, MAGIC.EXE, MONSTERS.EXE, WARMAGE.EXE, ZMONSTER.EXE and ZTXMAGIC.EXE. There is no evidence of Parsifal on the disk and I think this might have been the disk where original files were deleted but unsure why that would be. Nowhere on the label does it state shareware or licensed version, but again, I don't see any files relating to Parsifal. When you run WARMAGE.EXE it extracts other files to run. I think it is its own game called War of The Mages and has a readme file, wasn't sure if any of this is beneficial or not, I could post the readme or something if you feel it's beneficial to the discussion.
I took a look at the Parsifal game from the thread on here, and there is no WAR-MAGE folder. So I'm not sure what any of that is other than it's something not Parsifal. It's not even the same author as Parsifal either.
Here's a thought, when you quit Parsifal is a mailing address, why not send a letter looking to register a copy of the game and see if you get a reply back? There's another DOS game oh I forget the name of it, but you're a female witch something of the moon I think. Well apparently people got ahold of the developer and he said something about he's got the full game and he would be releasing it, but he never did, and what I think happened is, back in the day he made the shareware version, hoped to bring in money so that he could make the full game. When the money didn't come in, he gave up. None of us kids were ever going to get $35 to register a PC game, no way. So all these great shareware games, as far as I know, stayed as shareware. I don't know anyone who would have registered a game through the mail like that.
