Try running it in dos

Xp has so many graphics so it causes speed in dos games to slow down
Try using a bootdisk from Www.bootdisk.com

Hi Wally4000

Thanks for reply

Using boot disk, do we need to change the config file to include sound card and other buffers and files and device ??

In the XP I cannot see my sound card's Interrupt Address, Port and DMA

Any idea where to locate them ?? and how to write the the config and autoexec files ??

bootdisk
If you want to include sound cards you will have to go into the autoexec.bat in your c:
and see if it is in there

You shouldnt need to change the buffers or anything
If it doesnt work you will need to free some conventional memory I cant remember the site for it but it is somewhere
Writing the autoexec.bat file is easy same as config.sys
But they are included in www.bootdisk.com made up

what i did about dos games running slow on XP; i built a OLD computer with Windows 2000 Pro. However, i'd recommend getting win 98SE instead.

I have Windows XP and most of my dos games work fine. And I use Dosbox for the ones tthatdon't(or ones that are too fast on the compter). Although my Transport Tycoon game(with the editor) doesn't work at all, I've tried every trick in the book to get it to work, but it won't. So I'll just wait for the next Dosbox version and/or get that new Locomotion game.
