PC GAME, 3d, 3rd person, exploration, open world, 90s game

This one might be hard to find due to how long ago and i only have flashbacks of what the game was like,

But you were a 3rd person view character who could explore/roam around freely on what seemed to be an island, the map wasn't too big.

I remember it had this dark atmosphere, like it was always raining and night, and as you explored, you would find some random characters who u could have some interactions. I don't remember having any specific mission, rather than i had to figure out some puzzles by collecting stuff and figuring out what each of these characters needed.

Unfortunately, i don't remember much more, but i think it had somewhat of a Myst Game feeling to it, but u could actually see the character
and have it move around freely. (not just complex pre-rendered scenes)

Character didn't have realistic human proportions, it was somewhat stylized i think.

The title was probably something simple like "Myst", "Dark something", "island whatever" (i guess, don't think it had some long name)

I used to own a couple compilations Cds like "101 Only the Best Games #2" and some others, so i believe it was part of some cd like that.

I'm sorry my memory is vague on this, but i had quite some fun roaming around in the game and wanted to find it again.
