I wouldn't bother with Duke Nukem I, but Duke Nukem II is cool.
You can also try Bio Menace if you are into rather hard platformers with tons of secrets.
Earthworm Jim (1 & 2) is nice.
For a slightly different platformer/puzzle combo games - Prince of Persia (1 & 2), The Lost Vikings, and Blackthorne which is somewhere between the two.
