There are some companies I can't help but get a surge of nostalgia every time they're brought up, even if they went extinct a decade ago. What companies do you wish had kept on giving, with maybe just one more game? What do you think they'd be doing if they were still alive today?

My personal favorites would be SSI, Sierra and New World :D

I like your list
I'd add Sir Tech, Origin, and Mindscape.

The last two petered out and were bought out, so "one more game" might not have helped, but "a few more from their earlier heyday" would be welcome.

Definitely Sir Tech! I was looking at the latest Jagged Alliance game on Steam this week and apparently it's a huge pile of :P what a shame... I think the reviews say it all http://store.steampowered.com/app/25601 ... Flashback/

Matt Barton has some great interviews with one of the founders of Sir Tech, though I'd share https://www.youtube.com/user/blacklily8 ... rt+sirotek

MicroProse was a good one too!

Ran across a few old friends (games, that is) by SSI / SSG lately. I forgot SSI had done the Phantasie series, but was looking at Stellar Crusade and Star Command and Reach for the Stars by spin-off SSG. So many good hours spent with them!
