Lucky I have a Working Win 3.11 install in Dosbox so I can try to get the game for you

Anytime, Wally. Thank you to you too!Wally wrote:Yeah it's not on this CD sadly. Thanks again though Tien.
I did a little bit of google and found that Manic Marbles (by the same guy incidentally) is on iOS
Perhaps you can petition the original dev for the PC version http://www.nothinglabs.com/app-portfolio/
In fact, there was a version around 300MB on some torrent site, so our best bet is looking for other people who could have the Sidewinder discs to check it out about it. It's not lost, just hidden by what it looks...tienkhoanguyen wrote:I love tacos!hehe

Now about not being on this disc,, I have seen on another place that someone upped the image and it had around the same size. I asked him too and he said that is the original disc, so we're on the right track, but looking on the wrong release. Anyways thank you for upping the image of the disc.
In fact, we know the game was packaged with SideWinder Gamepad software, now we know it is not the 2.0 one, so we're talking about 3 or 4 releases probably, all we can do is wait for someone out there to share this game. Don't lose your hopes qmonkey, but it will take a lot of time to get what you want, considering how unknown it is.tienkhoanguyen wrote:I love tacos!hehe
Hey patryckpo,
I know being a developertn that I release many versions. Of my program probably some twenty four versions later it is a major refinement. hehe
Being unknown is only a testing phase. If you think you are good enough you would stick it out. When I was out in California I tried to break into the modeling and acting. However I never made much success probably because I am not pretty like Jennifer Love Hewitt. Maybe it is because I am not handsome like Robert Dinero.patryckpo wrote:In fact, we know the game was packaged with SideWinder Gamepad software, now we know it is not the 2.0 one, so we're talking about 3 or 4 releases probably, all we can do is wait for someone out there to share this game. Well, if only we can get the right guy's permission to use the marbles' images right "Dave"? hehe Well, I was thinking of doing a DEMO using the marbles' images hehe However I dont' want to be breekin any laws. So I know I want credits for anyone who uses my work. So at the very least I would like to give credits for the marbles' perfect renditions as I like to call it. heheWally wrote:Well the guy behind the iOS Version replied.. Even though the textures look the same it's not the same game.. or perhaps he suffers from memory loss hah!

I'm very glad to know that I'm not alone in finding this game!
I'll try to give you more details about the game. As I said before, it only came out as a demo in 96 along the Sidewinder Gamepad, so we are probably looking for version 1.0 of the cd. The cd came with the marbles demo and the gex demo (Gex was fully released and is still available today on GOG). One thing that i remember is that the demos had their own icons and their setups/autoruns were separated from the SWGamepad setup. That's why I tought tien's cd image was strange, because I didn't see the games icons anywhere. If I remember correctly the Marbles icon was a red and blue marble with two blue M's in front and the Gex icon was the lizard :p.
The game we're looking for is NOT this "Manic Marbles" (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/manic-marble/id304071484?mt=8) or "Lose Your Marbles", posted by Chilly Willy. I wish I had some images to show you.
The game was a really good 2-to-4 local multiplayer. You saw the whole arena and the marbles from up, like in Windows chess perspective (the camera stayed static). You had to push the other marbles into traps or out of the arena limits using your jumps, charges and special attacks. In the demo you could play as one of 4 selectable characters (Bertha Burp, Farmer Pete and Bessie, Wiggly Squiggly & The Schreckster) on 3 arenas (I remember correctly one of these had a Sidewinder Gamepad image on the ground with the logos). The controls were very responsive and swift.
Note: while searching I also found many trademarks sites that listed the "Microsoft Manic Marbles" tm registered in 96 but dropped around 97-98.
Let's find this
Wow, that's a nice thing, hope you can do it, I can't even think on it (I tried once creating a game, but I don't have the time for it, so I help people look for such unknown gems).tienkhoanguyen wrote:I love tacos!hehe
Worst case scenario I could try doing a similar game with a twist so it is different enough to NOT take away from the original producer. Right now the TINY remake is only a start. I just wanted to BEGIN the image importing.
Thank you for your feedback. It is really rough so far. The images has to be converted individually so it is tough behind the scenes. It is more tedious than it is hard. I might have to do a couple of computer tricks to get it to hold all the images adequately. However the next step is trying to put a twist on the game so I do not offend the copyright holder. So the game still uses the basic images, and I still give credits for that to them.patryckpo wrote:Wow, that's a nice thing, hope you can do it, I can't even think on it (I tried once creating a game, but I don't have the time for it, so I help people look for such unknown gems).tienkhoanguyen wrote:I love tacos!hehe

I saw what you did so far, maybe knowing which graphic do what could help on compiling those images.
Anyways good work so far!
I tried, but there's no way to PM.Chilly Willy wrote:Someone uploaded it on a forum but it looks like a mod removed the download link. Maybe if you sign up on that forum and PM the guy, he might still have it. Looks like it was a few years ago. Worth a shot though.
