Emerald Hunt

Post by fender22 »

Hi, I've been looking for a game I used to play called emerald hunt, like a break out type game you have to bulldoze your way out. (It's not Emerald miner). It looks like it's available for Windows CE / Palm pilots but can't find a PC version? Can anyone help or is there an emulator where you can run Windows CE games on a normal XP computer?

Thanks in Advance, Craig

Emerald hunter isn't findable (it seems) for other then Windows CE / Palm pilots.

MS released an emulator for testing purposes:
>> MS WinCE emulator <<

Never used it, so can't say much about it.

Hey everyone,

I know this post has been inactive for a long time, but just thought I'd post just in case it does get seen.

My parents managed to pull out their old computer from storage the other month and they finally got around to checking what was on their last night. They still have a copy of Emerald Hunt on there to my absolute glee, the original. Am currently working on getting a copy from them, which I'm hoping will work successfully.

Will keep everyone updated, if I can get a copy and it works fine, I'll let you know. :)

Hey nonvoco, any luck finding a copy of Emerald Hunt? There are forum threads all over the internet trying to find a copy of this.

Hey i_leeder, my parents do have the original Emerald Hunt on their old pc still, but have just recently started a new job and haven't had time to get over there for a copy! Will try and find some time over xmas to do it, and will let you all know. :)

If you want to up load it. You can use MediaFire.com. There are plenty of other options out there however it is personally easiest for me there.

Be patient. I'm awaiting a response from webmaster. I'd prefer to have the game hosted here where it belongs. B)

If the other guy doesn't pull through, I think i have it on a floppy disk somewhere. But I think as a kid I used the editor to change the original sprites. So maybe thats not a good copy either.

EMERALD.EXE may have also been named HUNT.EXE.

I also have 166 built games. See if WM wants those as well.

Although you lot may hate me because some are very hard.

I called one DIRTY1.PIC. It employs the dirtiest trick in order to solve the game.

Played it today and had to remember the trick.

Plays very good under DosBox.

What are the licensing terms for this game anyway? If it's the commercial version then the site will probably not be able to host the full version without the authors' approval first.

Has there been a shareware or a demo of that game?
Emerald Hunter

Post by Emerald Hunter »

The game version is shareware, but if you continue to play it it gives a Australian $ value and an address, which Google Maps does not like, however it does like a street with the same name in the next suburb in Melbourne.

A White Pages search for the surname in all possible locations has proved fruitless.

Given the software is not hosted anywhere and there has been no takedown messages, then that is enough to include the software on the server.

But it is up to the webmaster to respond to my enquiry. Let him make the decision.

Seems you cannot attach images, only refer to a webpage.

I must admit I have been coming back to this link every few weeks for years and years hoping someone would post the game here. I am very excited.

Excited to the point where I started to rebuild the game myself from scratch.

(I can't post a link as I am not signed up..)

I can only hope two of the people here who said they have a copy would please, please upload it so I can keep a copy safe..
