any Lord of the rings fans out there
I love the books lord of the rings triology, the hobbit, the silmarillion, unfinished tales, roverandom, and tales from the perilous realm... its hard to find people that even read one of these, and i was just woundering if theres anyone here that are fans?
I read all of those books many years ago in my native language (Portuguese translation), and recently read them in the native author's language which gave me a much better perspective.
The most admiring thing in Tolkien work it's his capacity to create a full world with real geography, different languages, cultures, cities, buildings, monuments and a solid record of historical events.
Quite impressive.

I also read all the books and they are really awesome. Children of Hurin for example and silmarillion.
As for the movies go, I really liked LOTR trilogy, although there were a few things, that bothered me. The love story for example, Aragorn Arwel, argh!
As for the new Hobbit movies, I really don't care for them. CGI is awful. The original LOTR movies look awesome even today, Hobbit is just "ugly" (for the lack of a better word).
