old airplane shooter game with customization [Tyrian]

looking for an old airplane shooter game where i can customize weapons for my airplane. I played this in the 90s and the graphics was decent. the airplanes looked nothing a realistic planes but had future looks. when im customizing weapons, it would show the preview of what the weapon's projectile would look like on the left hand side. i believe the plane had a shape on an upright egg. please help me find this memorable game.

btw it was played on pc and it went vertical

Yeah, that's very probably Tyrian.

However, you can also customize your aircraft in Raptor: Call of the Shadows and the much less known Ravage.
