OK, in general I can see the point that getting virtaully violent (smilies aside) isn't a good idea. Kinda too bad, I'd just sarted to do it!

I would say that, so long as the broadsides stay on subject, it should be allowed BUT not allowed to go beyond a few salvos or to grow beyond those who were actually conversing. The dog pile effect IS stupid.
