Ok so this game was awesome and came out sometime after 1995. You basically chose your ship (i was young so it seemed like there was a million different ships to choose from) and your ship entered your computer. You went around collecting icons (icons that were on your computer, not sure how they did that) and interacting with the other ships. The other ships had "clans" and if you played nicely with them they would actually help defend you if you got into trouble. I only remember two clans, one was a pirate like clan that picked on the other ships and started fights. The other clan i remember was a bunch of weak looking teddy bear/ duck ships that usually got blew up by the pirate clan ships on site for being so lame. I remember the ships even had names like lackey and avenger(which is the one you were pretty much forced into using). The ships could even loose wings and if you took enough damage your engine would go on the frits. There were even races in this game. This game was so advanced for its time and i remember putting loads of time into it. You could even buy missiles and other special weaponry for your ship, and you would choose which world you went to by clicking on one of your computers actual directories.
If you know the name of this game you will become my new idol and i will warship the ground you walk on.

Inner Space, which is still sold: http://www.sdispace.com/inspace.htm
At this rate, I am going to end up buying it again.. or seeing if they can replace my disk. I had a lot of fun with it like 13 years ago.
