Theme Hospital crashing [Vista]

Ok, so I haven't downloaded and ran Theme Hospital through DOS yet, but I still hope someone can help me.

I have the CD rom for this game and my laptop has Vista. No matter how many times I try to install it and the patch, I can't play the game in high res, or I get so far in the game before it freezes up and I have to press alt+ctrl+del

I've done a few searches on the net for this problem. Everything tells me to change the compatibility to win 95 or 98 etc but it doesn't work. The game keeps freezing.

I am about to try and download and run it through Dos. Does anyone have any suggestions to my current problem? Does the game run in Dos?

So I've got Theme Hospital working in DOS no prob. However there's no sound and it looks like you can't save games

I'm not sure...my partner just downloaded Dos Box for me..

Dosbox is not 'Dos'.

If you can't save it means dosbox isn't installed properly.

Re-install theme hospital in dosbox and choose SB for sound.
