Didn't California Dreams have a game like 3D-Pitfall? I want to say it was called BlockOut, but I don't remember.

From the 3D-Pitfall description:
"Looking suspiciously similar to the classic DOS Tetris-esque game Blockout!"

Indeed, it is by California Dreams, and plays pretty much identically to 3D-Pitfall (which came several years after Blockout!). There was also Welltris by Pajitnov et al, but it was a a bit different.
And yes, thanks dosraider for Niosa, one of the weirdest DOS games I've played in awhile.
