An old sidescrolling platform thing

Hello there forum i've been looking for quite some time to find an old game and i really know the minimal details about them

It's a game where you start on the outside of a foreing red-brownish planet.
You cross the name of the game and drop inside that planet. In there ou can enter various rooms and portals(if i remeber it right) in which you had to find keys and get out of the level. You had to shoot aliens or some sort of enemy crawling around. If you could make a suggestion that would be great!
