Try this one on for size - New Zealand DOS game featuring... [Dig it!]

Post by Vangar »

Okay, here's one that i can't seem to find, props if anyone knows this game!

I only had a shareware from some kind of racing DOS game disc, but it was a man that walked around in a cave, green and looked like the 'block revealer' from Kid chameleon on the mega drive if anyone knows what that looks like... i shall link a picture if i can find one..

In the cave there were snails that you had to defeat, it was a side-scrolling 2d platformer.

Has anyone even seen this game I speak of? Definitely made in New Zealand or Australia... could be a secret missing Dosgame, haha.

Oh man, I think I know that game.
Correction: I know it and I have played some levels of it.

But .... (as usual) ... I can't remember the name.
Wasn't it a freeware game?

...And if my memory isn't going completely......... nevermind that, multiplay included?

Im not sure if it was freeware or not, but I thought I could remember it asking me to dish out some cash.

I don't remember a multiplayer - The graphics looked kinda smooth, vga style and larger then normal-ish sprites too.

Hmm nope, I just had a look. The cave almost had a Donkey Kong Country Cave Feel, but it was smoother / not so realistic. Looked like it had depth from what i remember.

The title screen had the name of the game with the first area, with the snails moving around on it.

11 Year bump, but i found the game. It's 'Dig It!' And amazingly my description wasn't too far off, haha.

Only thing i had wrong was that I was convinced it was made in NZ, but it was Pixel Painters from Merrifield, VA.
