SATA Issues

Hi again, I have a older computer, as is the norm around here, a Celeron 1000Mhz, running XP. I moved all my music and pictures, a total of about 25GB, plus movies and other things to take ...

First, Sorry about the double-post... Now, I got my RAM tested at the store where I bought it and it came out fine... and I got that new power supply and the damn thing still doesn't work, now if I can't find an answer to this soon I'm going to have to (shudders) let a 'professional' get it running ...

Thanks for the depth, it's much appreciated... seems the store I normally go to to get my computer stuff doesn't carry ASRock boards but this one seemed to catch my eye as having everything I needed: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1578189&Tab=0&NoMa...

thanks, I was hoping for a more specific listing of types though... The past few days I've been looking at the Conroes, and I must say they ARE Tempting... as much as it would mean A complete new system as opposed to migrating stuff... and even if I don't get a conroe, waiting for 24/07 is probably ...

using floppy to boot CD

I can't change the boot settings on my computer and was wondering if there is a way to make a boot floppy that would redirect to the CD.

I usually reformat every 1-1 1/2 years or when a severe problem occurs. Update - I reformatted and reinstalled again, and the progress bar just stops at a different point now. Then I ran chkdsk, which said 1 or more errors were found and fixed, but still wouldn't load. I reformatted again after that...
