It's Rolling Thunder; has to be. If the description didn't give it away, the comparison to Capcom's unabashed clone, Code Name: Viper, sure does. The arcade/Genesis sequel (Rolling Thunder 2) has two-player co-op play. Arcade version of the original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v559cYVKp34 Genesi...

What sort of a character or playing piece did the game have? A human? A marble? What sort of style did the visuals have? High-tech, shiny, medieval? Can you think of any other notable features?

Er. Unlike Galaga, Galaxian, and Space Invaders with their complex scrolling backgrounds?

So it's more in the Galaga/Galaxian/Space Invaders mold than a scrolling shooter? Except there's a large boss enemy in there somewhere?

The visual style is minimal, but clean. It's going after a cartoony look, I'm guessing, to go with the webcomic. Well, that crossed with the NES palette with its accordant sprite and tile color limitations. I think it's pretty appealing. Didn't realize that RGB Classic Games had a forum. I'll head o...

Alan Caudel's Dummy Duck 7

Hey! Sort of an interesting development. Alan Caudel of the Dummy Duck webcomic (a person who, I will specify, is not me) is now working on a varied NES styled DOS-based adventure-platformer thing. https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/399646_334816386613677_744849743_n.jpg https://sphotos-a.x...

RSD Game-Maker

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7128/7874554306_dee0dd16a0_n.jpg So for a while I have been researching Recreational Software Designs' Game-Maker (1991), the first graphical game creation system for MS-DOS. I've been talking to its users and archiving their games where possible. I was wondering -- ha...

You're talking about sound formats that use the Sound Blaster's Yamaha FM chip. There are several of these, the most notorious of which may be Creative's own proprietary .CMF format. Dan Froelich, who wrote the music to many of Epic Megagames' early projects (Jill, Brix, Solar Winds) used AdLib Visu...

To my knowledge Blinky was finished; it was just never released. The author was displeased with it, and with Blinky 2 essentially remade it. Now as far as the author knows, the original Blinky is lost to time and entropy.

Hey. Just to bump this up a bit, has this game ever turned up publicly? I'm fascinated with the amount of response this series has gotten, considering how obscure most RSD Game-Maker games are.
