Modern BIOSs and OSs still support 5.25" drives so you could just buy one and hook it up on the regular floppy connection. Why not? If you're only going to use it once.... You can get combo drives that have both a 3.5" and 5.25" in the same unit. That would be fun to have in your mode...

Hey I'm with you on preferring to use old hardware. I wouldn't mind having an old laptop, as I have had those machines in the past. I have some old CD magazines that I thought you guys might enjoy. They are all from 1994-6. Some of them will work in XP but no promises :) The downloads are 7zipped ISOs (200-350 MB). old notebooks have terrible LCDs, btw. they don't get better with age, either. :)

Best to get something recent with a powerful CPU and use dosbox.

Thread revival! Battlezone 1 and 2 for PC are where it's at for this genre. There is another game called Uprising that's similar too. I really liked the Battlezone games and wish they'd make me another. And to the guy who complained about BZ2's graphics: well what do you expect? It came out in 2000....
