I have a P4 ~3 Ghz running Windows XP. Are you referring to the config.sys and autoexec.bat that one of the emulators lets you configure? In that case, I didn't make any changes to them. I recently ran into the same problem. I spent a while figuring out how to get Ripper to run in XP so I'll share with you what I did so you can get it going...
