DOS Games Discussion

I used to play this game on either 3DS or DS. All I remember about it was that the controlled character goes up to the top of a hill and finds out he can like traverse this platform area above the city/town he lives in. There are fighting elements if I'm not wrong, not sure whether turn based or not...
