You can boot to DOS instead of Windows by using a boot disk - www.bootdisk.com Windows ME can be persuaded to restart in DOS mode. But it can be risky so should only be undertaken by those with a good understanding of Windows files and good back ups. See here - http://users.iafrica.com/c/cq/cquirke/...

You don't say what operating system you are running. Something has been added to your system's start up routine. Check under Start, Programs, StartUp. If there's anything there you don't need or recognise then right-click and delete it. We can't go further than this without interfering with system f...

Yep. Blood used the Build engine. But like Shadow Warrior it was ported by 3dfx to run in glide. That Transfusion version is a recreation of Blood using the Quake engine. Not sure if that can precisely recapture the atmosphere of the original. But this is increasingly happening with DOS games. They'...

I've tried it in Windows (you can tell I'm must be desperate, eh Kazer? :laugh: ). Same crash. Though someone is making an OpenGL Windows version here- http://www.planetblood.com/qblood/ Some people claimed they got the original working in glide on a Voodoo2 years ago. But I think perhaps they lied....

I think GTInteractive is long gone. Monolith say that the 3dfx patch is an "alpha" and is "totally unsupported". Reading between the lines I think they're trying to blame 3dfx for the problem. Which is silly because it's definately a bug in their game code! :laugh: I think the on...

Blood on a Voodoo2

I'm trying to run the 3dfx version of Monolith's Blood on a Voodoo2. The 3dfx patch was written for a Voodoo Graphics (Voodoo 1) card. I'm running the game in MS-DOS 7.1 (Windows 98SE's full DOS mode). I've tried several different memory managers and configurations but that's really besides the poin...

Yes, I think that the program is so old that it's not able to deal with such a long path and such long directory names in the path. Try running it from c:\eliza or c:\windows\temp\eliza or similar.

BTW I'm the latest iteration of the program. What do you think? Am I human yet? :D

For Windows 95 or 98 or ME try running sysedit (Start, Run, then type in sysedit and hit enter) and changing the line to -

keyboard=*vkd

If it's that already then :( .

Good luck.

If you're running FAT32 then you should try a boot (floppy) disk. Most of them come with everything already configured except your DOS sound drivers (which will be particular to your system). If you can find out the lines your sound card needs in config.sys/autoexec.bat then you'll have cracked it. ...

You need to use a slow down utility for the install. You could try Mo'Slo. There are several others too.
