In my searches I found that there are a few developers working on a new version Starflight III. From their website it looks great! Cant' wait to give it a try. They are in need of artists and developers so if anyone is interested...

Yup, sounds like the same one. This game is great. I had hours and hours of fun. Many iterations - it was never the same game twice.
