Tommy's Toys games
Did this ever happen? I didn't find Tommy anything when searching Dosgames. I've tried out quite a few of these, including poker, bridge, bowling, Monopoly etc. Mostly quite enjoyable. The later titles do have an annoying 60-second nag timer at the beginning.

Early 2000 PC platform space game with local multiplayer 2d
Thanks for posting this. I'm guessing it's possible to tinker with either DG Voodoo or DX Wnd/Wrapper and get this to work. I got it to work partially on the former, but I don't know enough about what the settings mean to get all the way there. Also didn't get very far...not sure if it runs too fast...

Old CD Magazines / Magazine CDs for download
Pixelmusement just reviewed Unity on Youtube. I think Spectrum HB simply took too long to release it. As you mentioned, the math co-chip is required, so it must have been intended as a whopper of a game. But by the time it came out, many people had 100+ MHz Pentiums, which caused the game to run too...

Wordosle
Started posting this in the reviews section, but the rules there are very specific and I want to post something more free-form... I saw DGA.com just added Wordosle, which is my favorite of the DOS versions of Wordle. I notice other versions have a bigger vocabulary in terms of checking your guesses,...

The Mandatory "What are you listening to?" Thread
There are certain 70's/80's songs that I associate with Everquest. Not because they have anything to do with EQ (and of course the game didn't even exist back then), but I think I had my media on shuffle play and those songs popped up during some crucial moment in EQ, when something REALLY good happ...

(Casino?) Game [PC, Windows] (2000s)
Were the mini-games contained within the slot machines? If so, there are numerous releases from both Reel Deal and Masque that might fit. If you were playing at an "arcade" separate from the casino, that sounds like Vegas Jackpot Gold, although I don't remember if there was a Dig Dug game ...

Anyone use Telnet?
Funny you should mention backup drives...I have like 3-4 of them and randomly save to all of them. It got so confusing with all the duplicates that I finally had to spend an entire evening separating everything out. Now I'm strict about putting fun stuff on one drive, business on another etc. Well I...

Yikes! Haha, glad your drive mounting didn't result in any catastrophes. I don't think I've ever done a root mount...I just know I'd have rotten luck and overwrite something. Yeah I have Mint 21.3 installed on my spare comp downstairs...what's funny is, it's the most powerful computer I have, with t...

90s, Minesweeper graphics, reach the exit step by step
What you are describing is basically Theseus and the Minotaur. You take one step, the monster takes 2 steps, most likely toward you, unless it's blocked by walls etc. Is that the basic idea? There are numerous versions of this including mobile. There used to be at least one online version but I have...

It's fun reading about your retro adventures! Wow that is a lot of Ataris, you should open up an arcade lol. Classic NES consoles are hard to come by these days, but I do have an old Atari in the closet with a large handful of games. I also got one of those "Gamestation Pro" models as a gi...

DosBox for Linux. Does it work?
For whatever reason I've been lucky - I've installed Mint on several machines and never had that issue. I do see if you go to the Mint forums and search for blinking cursor, a ton of results pop up (including what you posted, I'm sure) so you're not alone, but I'm guessing there's a bunch of possibl...

My head is spinning with thoughts now (you're making me want to go on a retro shopping rampage on Ebay) but my time is pretty limited tonight, so I'll start with the Dosbox cycles. There's a neat little chart at the bottom of this page: https://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Performance Dosbox is not as exact ...

DosBox for Linux. Does it work?
Sheesh. Kind of pointless to have a forum at all in that case... Well hopefully you're getting some good tips here. I've personally only used Mint. I think that's because I do associate Linux with "hacky-ness" well beyond DOS, and I wanted to get as far away from that as possible. Have not...

Ah gotcha, that would explain why so many BBS's have LORD. I've even played it offline in Dosbox, and sent mail to myself, haha. Is Continuum like Netrek? I remember a friend introduced me to Netrek briefly a few years ago. Never knew about it back in the glory days. Yeah I know what you mean...in c...

DosBox for Linux. Does it work?
Weird. Was that the Linux Mint forum? Yeah I'd probably ignore that advice. The whole point of Mint is to be as gentle an introduction to the world of Linux as possible, not to overcomplicate things and require obscure solutions to problems. You might have encountered a more hardcore crowd that has ...

Hi again - this is becoming a habit! Yes I use Telemate 4.21 in Dosbox and you get the nice ASCII text pages and everything. Just like the old days. It's shareware so it does have annoying nag screen after exiting, but then I just close Dosbox anyway so it doesn't bother me. I'm currently dealing wi...

DosBox for Linux. Does it work?
Yes I have had success, also on Mint (Cinnamon). Make sure to install the...flatpak? flathub? Basically the version that installs another GB or so of files to ensure maximum compatibility. I The smaller version worked ok until an update around 19.3 or 20.x seemed to break it. The main issues I have ...
