Pie in the Sky 3D GCS

Is it still possible to get the DOS version of this somewhere (legitimately)? I've searched Amazon and eBay for a used copy a few times but haven't seen one.

Care and feeding of an old hard drive?

So I've noticed that the HD on my older computer ( spec here ) seems to be loading the games more slowly and getting choppy from time to time. Ordinary defragging hasn't helped, but uninstalling some stuff and then defragging does seem to have made an improvement. Scandisk doesn't report any errors ...

I guess the question was a bit vague. OpenWatcom can still compile to DOS formats if you give it the right setting. It's a continuation of the old Watcom that was used for some DOS programs (in general looking at the docs with some source releases, it seems like id Software preferred Borland while 3...

That looks like a pretty neat site, but after watching it for a while I never seem to see anyone logged in. So I guess the "is it possible" is a yes but the "anyone interested?" question still applies.

Dark Legions!

Anybody dig Dark Legions?

It seems like a pretty cool game, but it's one where the single player is really marred by a dumb/cheating AI. Anyone succeeded in getting a PvP match going via DOSBox, or interested in trying?

Thanks guys... it looks like an early version of ACK is very likely to have been what I had back in the day. It's got the sort of graphics I remember and it was apparently shareware in the beginning.

Top down, shareware, RPG creation kit for DOS/Windows [ACK]

I remember having a game creator kit once that we'd picked up from a shareware catalog (The Software Labs I think... they put shareware on floppies and sold them) It made top-down RPG sort of games, where you could converse with NPCs, fight monsters, etc. It ran in either DOS or an early Windows (e....

Does it have to be one that runs in DOS? The ZDoom port of Doom has so many modding features that it could practically be considered a GCS these days, if you know how to use it. Check out Harmony or Urban Brawl for an idea of the sort of total overhaul that can be done with it.
