Infogrames, founded in 1983 in France, gained international attention with their publication of the game Alone in the Dark in 1992. Later the company began to grow through acquisitions which included Atari and Microprose. Eventually Infogrames rebranded themselves (and all of their various companies/names) under the Atari brand.
